Care navigation volunteer

Help people who have contacted us find a psychiatrist, therapist or clinic that fits their needs, budget and location.

Care navigation is the heart of what we do. Most people who reach us have already tried to find help and hit a wall: no insurance, waiting lists measured in months, or clinics that never called back.

Volunteers do the legwork (searching, calling and confirming) so that staff can spend their time on assessment, funding decisions and follow-up. You will never be asked to give clinical advice or make treatment decisions.

What you will do

Search provider directories and sliding-scale clinics for people on our waiting list
Call clinics to confirm availability, cost and whether they accept uninsured patients
Write up clear options and next steps for the person, in plain language
Flag anything urgent to staff immediately using the escalation process

What we ask of you

Comfortable making phone calls and keeping careful written notes
Able to follow privacy rules strictly and never give clinical advice
Reliable internet and a private space for calls
Two references and a signed confidentiality agreement
