Ways to Help

Become a Partner

We collaborate with providers, pharmacies, employers and community organizations so that people who cannot pay still get appropriate mental health care. Each track below sets out exactly what it involves.

Mental health practices and clinicians

Therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners who accept funded referrals from people who could not otherwise pay.

What you do

  • Reserve a small number of appointment slots for referred clients
  • Bill us directly at your agreed rate, or offer reduced-fee or pro bono care
  • Confirm attendance and let us know if a client needs a different level of care

What we ask

  • Current, unrestricted license in the state where care is delivered
  • Malpractice coverage in force, verified before the first referral
  • Written agreement covering fees, scope of practice and privacy

What we provide

  • Pre-screened referrals with the client's needs and history summarized
  • Payment for approved appointments, so cost is never discussed with the client
  • A named coordinator for scheduling questions and escalations

Healthcare providers and clinics

Primary care practices, community health centers, emergency departments and hospital social work teams who see patients with unmet behavioral health needs.

What you do

  • Refer uninsured or underinsured patients who need mental health care
  • Share the clinical context needed for us to assess the referral, with consent
  • Continue medical care while we arrange the behavioral health piece

What we ask

  • Documented patient consent before any information is shared
  • A named contact for follow-up on each referral
  • Referrals within our scope. We are not an emergency or inpatient service

What we provide

  • A professional referral route with structured intake
  • Updates on whether the patient was connected to care
  • Funding for appointments, medication assistance and evaluations where approved

Pharmacies and medication assistance

Independent and chain pharmacies that can dispense psychiatric medication for people whose treatment we fund.

What you do

  • Fill prescriptions for enrolled participants and bill us directly
  • Apply manufacturer or patient assistance discounts where they exist
  • Alert us when a participant has not collected a refill

What we ask

  • Current pharmacy license and standard dispensing records
  • Agreed pricing in writing before the first prescription
  • Participants are never asked to pay at the counter for covered medication

What we provide

  • Direct payment on an agreed billing cycle
  • A verified list of enrolled participants and covered medications
  • A single point of contact for billing questions

Employers and businesses

Companies that fund care, run workplace campaigns, or contribute professional services in kind.

What you do

  • Sponsor a defined number of appointments, evaluations or prescriptions
  • Run a matched-giving or payroll-giving campaign
  • Contribute in-kind skills such as legal, accounting, design or technology support

What we ask

  • A written agreement covering the amount, timing and any recognition
  • No expectation of access to participant information: records stay confidential
  • Alignment with our mission of removing cost barriers to mental health care

What we provide

  • A 501(c)(3) receipt and clear reporting on what your funding paid for
  • Recognition on our supporters page where you want it
  • Materials your team can use for internal campaigns

Nonprofits and public agencies

Shelters, food programs, reentry services, housing agencies and case management teams whose clients need mental health care they cannot afford.

What you do

  • Refer clients through our professional referral route
  • Coordinate with us so people are not bounced between services
  • Share what support you can continue providing alongside treatment

What we ask

  • Consent from the client before a referral is made
  • A named staff contact who can be reached for follow-up
  • Honest information about risk, so referrals are matched safely

What we provide

  • Funded access to psychiatry, therapy, medication and evaluations
  • Care navigation for clients who need help choosing a provider
  • Shared reporting on referral outcomes, without identifying details

Schools, campuses and community groups

Schools, colleges, faith communities and neighborhood organizations that want mental health education and a route to real care.

What you do

  • Host an education or outreach session for the people you serve
  • Share our materials with families, students or members
  • Refer individuals who need more than education can offer

What we ask

  • A venue or channel, and a staff or volunteer contact on your side
  • Parental consent arrangements where sessions involve minors
  • Agreement that sessions are educational, not clinical treatment

What we provide

  • Plain-language sessions and printable materials at no cost
  • A direct referral route for anyone who needs individual care
  • Follow-up support for staff who are unsure how to respond to a disclosure
